This is an interactive page for the Kansas Department of Commerce’s State Monitor Advocate (SMA) and migrant and seasonal farmworkers (MSFWs) who may be traveling to or through the state.  Every state’s SMA is charged with monitoring state employment and training services to MSFWs and advocating on their behalf.  Advocacy includes providing information about available services, resources, or rights in case of an employment related complaint.

This website is a tool for providing information and creating another communication vehicle among farmworkers, partner organizations, and this office.  Subscribing to or following this website will keep you up to date with the latest posts and news.  This site includes the following pages —

The Traveling In Kansas page provides links to the Kansas Department of Transportation pages about weather conditions and road construction or closings.  A subpage includes a link to a Google map which shows pins where program services are located throughout the state.

The “Contact Me” page includes my street address, phone number, and email address.  A comment may also be left on that page.  A sub-page provides the names and contact information for all State Monitor Advocates in our 10-state region and a link to the 2015 National Monitor Advocate Directory.

The “Employment and Training” page includes links to the five Kansas Workforce Investment Areas and KANSASWORKS.com, the state’s job bank.

The “Kansas Programs & Agencies” page includes sub-pages for programs and the governmental agencies or community based organizations which provide services to MSFWs.  Each page gives a brief description of services offered and information on how to contact staff.

The “Filing Complaints” page contains a link to the approved Employment and Training Administration complaint form and its instructions.  These forms are downloadable from this site.  Another link will take you to the Kansas Department of Labor Claim for Wages form on its page.

The “Information for Employers” page includes links to the U.S. Departments of Labor and Justice for information about complying with U.S. agricultural and immigration related laws.

The “Recent News” page contains announcements, information, or news not found elsewhere within this site.

Please visit the official Commerce Regulatory Compliance (CRC) web page for general program information.  Mobile users can use this Google mobile page for easier viewing.
